This year the UK Cilia Network plans to make this meeting a memorial meeting in remembrance of our friend and colleague Jarema Malicki https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/bms/research/malicki who unexpectedly passed away in early January, 2019. Jarema was the greatest of advocates for ciliary research throughout the world, was a member the management group of the Network as well as being one of the driving forces behind the less formal “Northern” Cilia Club. The scientific community is still coming to terms with his loss.

Whatever your specific interest in cilia may be, we hope that you will join with us at the meeting to present short presentations, or listen to, the latest ciliary research as well as to remember Jarema in the sort of relaxed and informal environment where he felt so at home.

The meeting is being organised by Colin Bingle c.d.bingle@shef.ac.uk and Gwen Reilly g.reilly@sheffield.ac.uk
